On December 30 around 3:30pm my son and friends enter you store at Tyler Mall. Nationally of the boys are as follow Asian, Latino, Caucasian and African American (ages 15-16).

The only reason I bring up their race is because of how your employee Noah treated them. The Latino was trying on clothes, Asian was sitting on the couch, African American was looking at clothes and Caucasian was looking at skateboards. The first words Noah said to my son were โ€œAre you going to buy anythingโ€. That is not how you approach a customer.

Noah then began accusing the Latino shopper of stealing and making a scene. Noah was cruel the young Latino shopper that shopper felt force to left of his shirt. No child should ever feel force to left of their clothes, if Noah truly felt he was shoplifting he shouldโ€™ve call security. Sadly Noahโ€™s rant didnโ€™t stop there Noah proceed to kick the boys out except the Caucasian (which is odd since they were all together).

He kept making a scene until they were out of the store, the Caucasian young shopper left the store because his friends were being mistreated and kicked out. Rheada (store manager) came out of the store due to Noah making a scene about NOW all 3 of the Non-Caucasian boys were stealing (I guess shaming one boy into lift up his clothes wasnโ€™t enough for Noah he needed to see more). The boys told Rheada that they didnโ€™t steal anything. Rheada told Noah to go back into the store and told the boys the leave.

My son tried calling the store several times after they were kicked out to get Noahโ€™s name, the store ever answered the phone. When I picked up the boys from Tyler Mall they told me what happened. The young Caucasian shopper said it had to be racial. I called the store several times until a woman answer ( I had my son record the call).

I asked for the manager because I need to speak to them about an incident that happened at the store with one the employees. The female employee that answer the phone stated she wasnโ€™t dealing with this and said Noah itโ€™s for you. Noah got on the phone and I told him my boys were kicked out of the store today for stealing and I wasnโ€™t happy about it. Noah stated he didnโ€™t kick anyone out of the store and didnโ€™t know what I was talking about.

I stated to Noah that store has cameras and minorities arenโ€™t dumb as he think we are. I will ask corporate to look that the store security video (I hung up the phone after that). The next morning (December 31) I went to store to get the district managerโ€™s contact information. After the phone call the prior night the store made it seem like Noah was the Zumiezโ€™s store manager at Tyler Mall.

When my son and entered the store my son told me that was employee that accused and made a scene. When I spoke to Noah he changed what happened and stated he kicked all 4 of the boys out including the Caucasian. He never once admitted that he was out of line and stood by his actions on December 30, 2016. When I asked for the district managerโ€™s contact info Noah pretended like he couldnโ€™t find it.

Noah proceeded to call Rheada and stated he was calling her about what happened yesterday. After he hung up with Rheada he still could seem to find the district manager information. Noah tried to get me to leave several times without giving it me but I wouldnโ€™t leave until I had it. Once I had Ashleyโ€™s (district manager) I had to call her twice before I received a call back.

To my surprise it wasnโ€™t Ashely that called me back but Rheada that introduce herself as the store manager. First of all why wouldnโ€™t Ashely call me back was this incident beneath scope of her Zumiez District Manager capacity? Secondly Rheada was part of the probably because she was there and didnโ€™t stop Noah during his rampage. It surprised me when talking to Rheada that she was the person not only the female employee there when Noah interrogated and shamed one boy to lifting up his clothes but Rheada was also the female employee that answer the phone when I called Zumiezโ€™s to speak to the manger about what Noah and she gave the phone to Noah.

Is this Zumiezโ€™s policy to have both manager and district manager ignore a compliant or pass the buck? Rheada told me that Noah admitted he was wrong and was discipline for it (neither I believe). I told her I was happy with that obviously Noah is a liability to Zumiez. Anyone that harasses children base on their race/appearance and bullies them to lift up their clothes shouldnโ€™t be in a job that has contact with the public.

What happens when Noah is alone in the store with customers and has an outburst how far will he go, what harm will he do the customers and will it lead to sexual harassment or worst. When Noah does go pass the point of no return you canโ€™t see your company wasnโ€™t aware he had any issues. My son asked for gift cards to Zumiez for Christmas.

Now he doesnโ€™t want to go there he doesnโ€™t feel safe walking into your store. The boys went shopping at other stores including Vans with no problems, no false allegations and good customer service.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
